Get better at any job -- fast

Hi there,

A few times in my career, I identified large skills gaps in my job. For example, one of my first Hollywood assistant jobs, I was responsible for editing literary deal memos… but never read one in my life.

More recently, last year I got a new title: product manager. First thing I did was update my LinkedIn profile (obviously).

The second thing? Google: “what does a product manager do?”

In instances like the above, your goal is to get better at your job -- fast. But:

  • How do you get better?

  • How do you juggle doing your job and “studying” for your job?

  • And how do you know if you’re improving?

If you’re going to make the move out to Los Angeles and build your career, there’s a strong chance you’ll be in similar shoes. I put together a step-by-step process to develop your skills and get feedback, while you crush at your job along the way.

I think you’ll find it useful. You can read the article here:

Thanks, enjoy the rest of your week.

With gratitude and affection,

- Chris Ming
