. Lately, I feel like I’ve noticed an uptick in bravado as well as humble-bravado. Not just on social media (where we expect it), but IRL as well. IMO, not only does this put humility and humbleness at a premium, but it’s just practical. Being humble is a competitive advantage. All else being equal, who wins in the long-run: the person who already believes they're great? Or the person obsessed with getting better?

This week, we're going to focus exclusively on the life of one Hollywood hero -- here are the four best articles about Dwayne Johson:

. A terrific profile of Dwayne Johnson.

My favorite line that sums up his contagious energy:

"When I first met Dwayne, one of the first things he said to me was 'Let's elevate and dominate,' " Peyton says. "If most people said that, you'd be like, 'Are you kidding me?' But when Dwayne says it, I'm like, 'Yes! Elevate and dominate!' "

. Walt Hickey’s analysis of Dwayne Johnson’s movie career. Read about how his film career blossomed like a flower, from The Tooth Fairy and Doom to the Fast and the Furious franchise.

Favorite line:

When The Rock started out, he was not a good actor. I mean that as a compliment. Because it demonstrates the single most important thing about Dwayne Johnson. It’s not even a secret. The Rock was not born with a God-given talent for acting, he wasn’t born with pecs you can open bottles off of, he wasn’t born with a natural charisma. He worked to get there. In the end, he’s the only actor willing to admit that it’s never “effortless.”

. You can’t talk about Dwayne Johnson without talking about Dany Garcia. Ms. Garcia is his manager, co-founder and co-CEO of their production company, Seven Bucks Prods, and one of the pillars behind Mr. Johnson’s success. Ms. Garcia also happens to be Dwayne Johnson’s ex-wife.

Favorite line:

That carried over to Dwayne, looking at him as this incredibly talented individual, and saying, 'Now, how do I build a corporation around him? How do I support him? Where is the marketing? Where are our extensions? Who are the partners who can help me duplicate?' It's like at Apple, except the technology is Dwayne Johnson."

. One man’s mission to eat and train like The Rock for 30 days.

Favorite line:

Overall, the plan involves 7 meals a day (~5000 calories), and 50 minutes of cardio followed by 60-90 minutes of weight training 6 days a week.
